How Beat2Gether Works

Beat2Gether is a collaborative beat-making platform where producers build music together through shared projects, version history, full preview uploads, and contribution files.

📁

What is a Project?

A project is your shared beat workspace. It holds your updates, collaborators, chat, and activity for one beat idea or song.
💾

What is an Update?

An update is a new version of the beat. It usually includes a full preview bounce of the beat so far, plus optional files showing what you personally added.
🎧

Who is this for?

Producers and collaborators who want something better than sending loops and files back and forth through DMs, email, or random folders.

Getting Started

🎛️
Step 1

Create a Project

Start a new beat workspace by creating a project. This is where all updates, collaborators, and progress for one beat live.

🎶
Step 2

Upload an Updated Preview

Each update should include a full preview bounce of the beat so far. This lets everyone hear the current version in one click.

📂
Step 3

Attach the Files You Added

You can also upload the stems or audio files you personally added, like drums, melodies, bass, or effects.

🤝
Step 4

Invite Collaborators

Bring in other producers by sending them an invite. They can join the project, add their part, and upload the next version.

🕒
Step 5

Track the Timeline

Every update is saved in the project history, so you can hear progress over time, compare versions, and jump between ideas.

⬇️
Step 6

Download and Compare

Open any version, play the preview, and download the preview or added files when you want to compare or keep a copy.

🚀

Best Upload Workflow

The best workflow is: upload a full updated preview so everyone can hear the beat, then attach only the files you added so credits and contributions stay clear.
✍️

Good Update Titles

Use titles like “Added hi hats”, “Updated 808 pattern”, “Added melody layer”, or “Mixed drums” so collaborators instantly know what changed.

Quick Tips

Use clear update titles like "Added hi hats", "Updated 808 pattern", or "Mixed drums".
Upload a full preview every time so collaborators can instantly hear the current beat.
Only attach the files you personally added when uploading contribution files.
Start with trusted producers first while testing your workflow.

Simple Example

Producer A
Uploads a preview of the beat with a melody idea.
Producer B
Opens that version in their DAW, adds drums, uploads a new full preview, and attaches the drum files they added.
Producer C
Builds on that version, adds bass or FX, uploads another full preview, and attaches their own added files.
